It really makes me feel the urgent dependency between the blind boy and his dog. Nice gameplay and puzzles, lovely aesthetics which reminds me to Tim Burton. I really enjoyed playing this game. A must in your library if you want to try something new.. Playing Ian's Eyes I discovered an innovative game with a cute design. It's a lineal game, but it relies on a solid story and different ways to advance on each level. The difficulty curve increases in each level of the game and it becomes really challenging for a casual player. Some levels can be tricky and could generate a bit of frustration but it's compensated by plenty ways of solving each puzzle. Ian's Eyes proves that it's possible to create a non-violent zombie game taking as foundation an original concept and a carefully treated atmosphere.What I love: animations, originality, the music, and the atmosphere in general...What is improvable: character's control is a little messy when far away from the camera, abrupt changes form one fixed camera to another provoke some senseless deaths that might be frustrating, Bate's character voice could be more convincing…. The first day at school can be stressful, especially for a blind kid. Eight-year-old Ian is happy he can bring his guide dog North along, and he will direly need him as things turn ugly during the preparations of Blue Norholm School's centenary celebration.Luckily Ian is not alone but has North and the player to help him find his way to the library, the gym, up and downstairs, the cafeteria...Hampered by tank-like controls and a rigid camera angle like in an old-school horror game, we pilot North either with or without Ian by his side.Actions in game are limited to the necessary: sneaking, running, barking, to explore every section and lure enemies away to open up the path for Ian.The tightly defined camera and controls are no real default but another means to increase the retro-ish tension through gameplay alone, adding to the macabre atmosphere visibly drawn from Tim Burton movies such as Frankenweenie.Yet don't let yourself blind by Ian's Eyes' eye-catchingly cute graphics for the game gets difficult right after the start requiring a strong learning curve to continue, and playing until the suprising end takes quite some patience plus lines to be added to the merciless death counter.Ian's Eyes can be tough, but overcoming the most difficult sections with strategy and skill is rewarding in itself for players that like mastering challenges.
